TAMBANKULU – ‘Bobhejane’ Head Coach Vusisizwe Mahlelela is confident that the Lubombo-based outfit will not be relegated.

The former towering Nsingizini Hotspurs coach made these observations after watching his side narrowly beaten 1-0 by Mbabane Highlanders in an MTN Premier League match played at Tambankulu Stadium yesterday.

Mahlalela admitted that they were in a tough situation, but was quick to highlight that they were not going down.

Relegation

“Relegation is not on our minds. We came all out for the game and we were unfortunate to lose,” Mahlalela said.

He said they were not panicking yet as they would fight until the end to survive the dreaded relegation axe that has been hovering over their heads since the season started.

Callies are currently sitting dangerously on position 13 on the log standings with 13 points in 20 outings. In the 14-team league, two teams get to be relegated.

Meanwhile, his counterpart at Inkunzi Emnyama in former South Africa Under-20 Amajita gaffer Solomon ‘Solly’ Luvhengo, said they started the game well and in high tempo, as they created more scoring chances than Callies.

“We got into the box I think four five times in the first 15 minutes, but we didn’t get a goal and this brought confidence to Calllies and we started panicking,” Luvhengo said.

He said they should have gone to the breather leading 4-0 and was happy with the input of the youngsters who he introduced in the second stanza as they went on to score the most important goal of the match.
