Daughter bolts from alleged rapist dad

MBABANE – While many children of her age were preparing to sleep, a 16-year-old bolted out of the house.

This is said to have happened to *Jackie when her father allegedly wanted to rape her. It is alleged that her father had been raping the teenage girl for over a year now. The girl is a high school pupil.

It is alleged that when the rape started, the girl had reported the matter to a relative and that her father was confronted about it. However, instead of reporting the matter to the police, the family only talked about it at family level.

They allegedly only warned the father to stop raping his daughter but the 37-year-old man continued. However, it is alleged that over two weeks ago, *Jomo wanted to rape his daughter, but this time, she fought back and managed to escape. It is alleged that in the past, he would rape her but she could not escape.

The last time he allegedly sexually assaulted her, it is alleged that she managed to flee from him and ran out of the house. It is alleged that she then rushed to a neighbouri­ng homestead where she hid from him. It is alleged that it was during this time that the police were then called.

After the matter was reported to the police, an investigat­ion was then conducted by the police in Pigg’s Peak, who then arrested Jomo. He has since appeared at the Pigg’s Peak Magistrate­s Court and he was not granted bail.

In last Thursday’s Times of Eswatini publicatio­n, it was reported that an was arrested for allegedly raping his niece and performed a ritual on her. It was reported that the niece was aged 17. It was alleged that the had offered a lift to his niece and burnt some herbs to drug her.

After the girl had allegedly been drugged, the is said to have taken her to his house, where he allegedly raped her.

The is said to have made some incisions below her breasts and also private parts and then sprinkled some muti. Chief Police Informatio­n and Communicat­ions Officer Superinten­dent Phindile Vilakati confirmed the alleged incident.
