They played in the latter last year against South Africa’s Royal AM and lost 2-0 on aggregate after a 0-0 draw at home.

While others are renewing contracts, it has been learnt that the team has since parted ways with striker Mfanufikile ‘Fash’ Ndzimandze, who had been given another run last season by his boyhood team.

“Fash is gone and we have to look for another striker in his place. There’s also an issue with Bereng, who has a long-term injury we’ll need to consider replacing him as well,” Kgomongwe affirmed when called and questioned about the duo.

Unceremonious

Bereng was one of the three foreign players left at Highlanders, after the unceremonious departure of former Tshakuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) FC goalkeeper Bongani Manavhela. Others are Kenneth ‘Mashaba’ Moloto and Tony ‘Ben 10’ Machacha. Kgomongwe affirmed the latest news as per our impeccable source had revealed.

However, with Bereng, it is not yet final that he will not return, but another source said he also requested to leave to focus on other personal avenues.

The Lesotho international was one of the best midfielders and foreign stars the country saw last season with his skills and football artistry.

Concurred

The sources all concurred that ‘Fash’ was first to leave last month, even before the last few matches of the season.

Those linked with joining the club so far are Manzini Wanderers’ midfielder Sibonginkosi ‘Gudas’ Dlamini, who had been released at the end of the 2021/22 season, while it is claimed Moneni Pirates could be invaded again for one of their forward gems, but his name was kept secret for now.

No immediate comment could be obtained from Bereng, but ‘Fash’ confirmed he was out and asked not to comment any further for now.
