King receives Saudi, Korea credentials
LOZITHA – His Majesty King Mswati III says no country can develop without the support of other countries.
The King said this when receiving letters of credence from the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sultan Al Angari, at Lozitha Royal Palace yesterday.
The King said Eswatini was looking forward to forging strong relations with Saudi Arabia, as the two countries were partners in development. The Monarch thanked Saudi Arabia for affording Eswatini an opportunity to establish a fully fledged embassy in that country.
He said he was hopeful that Saudi Arabia, as a member of the Arab consortium, would help Eswatini as she strived for First World status.
The King said the country was still committed to accelerating its development programmes, after the COVID-19 pandemic which caused major setbacks worldwide.
The King said the relationship between the two countries was demon- strated by the visits and sharing of expertise in different fields.
In his brief remarks, Al Angari conveyed his gratitude to be appointed Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the Kingdom of Eswatini. He said his country was looking foward to a strong cooperation with Eswatini, as the two countries strengthened their relationship.
The King also received letters of credence from the Ambassador of the Republic of South Korea, Choi Won Sok. His Majesty said he was hopeful that South Korea, as an advanced country in technology, would help Eswatini as it worked towards achieving First World status.
The King said the two countries had a lot to share, as they had come a long way with their relationship, which started in 1968.

He stated that as a result of the existing relationship, the two countries had exchanged visits, which were mutually beneficial. He made an example of the recent visit by the Prime Minister, Cleopas Sipho Dlamini, to the Republic of South Korea.
“I have been informed that investors are looking for investment opportunities in many industries in Eswatini. I hope they will be successful in identifying areas of investments. I wish that many more investors from your country would bring investment to the Kingdom of Eswatini,” the King said.
His Majesty said Ambassador Sok came at a time when there were ongoing discussions aimed at developing Eswatini, which was adversely affected by COVID-19.
In his brief remarks, Ambassador Sok assured the King that he would do all in his powers to fulfill his country’s promise to Eswatini.
He said there had been a lot that the Republic of South Korea had done exclusively for Eswatini. He made an example of the provision of expertise health practitioners.
The ambassador said his country had donated ambulances and learning equipment to the University of Eswatini. He pleaded for Eswatini’s support, as the Republic of South Korea prepared to host World Expo 2030.
His Majesty also met special envoys from Zimbabwe, Simbarashe Mumbengegwi and the Republic of South Korea, Kim Byong Joon.
