Cold turnout for Makhadzi

- BY NOMBUSO DLAMINI

MBABANE - I love each and every one of you who came out to support me despite the cold. These were the words said by South African musician, Makhadzi, while on stage for the show dubbed ‘Makhadzi’s All Black Exclusive’ at the Rock Lifestyle at Sibebe.

It was something out of the normal, as one of the most followed and loved acts in Africa had to perform for a relatively small crowd of fun lovers. The event kept time and at 6pm the organisers mentioned that the show had started. It was very cold at the venue and it would rain from time-to-time and a cold breeze would escape into the dome like rock.

There were spectacular local acts that performed, including The Prefect, M Nation, Sgitha Wama2000 and Rowen the VTh to name a few. It is worth mentioning that Rowen was only on stage for less than 10 minutes due to reasons that were not disclosed to this publication.

The headliner of the show, Makhadzi was scheduled to perform at midnight but that was the time when she and her crew arrived at the resort and freshened up. While they were doing so Danger from Big Nuz and Bello no Galo were already at the entertainment venue, VIP section. There they mentioned how they absolutely love the reception they receive from their local fans and it would be an ultimate dream to bring in the vibe from SA into Eswatini.

It was Bello and Galo’so 4 time in the country

th and Danger mentioned that he has performed in the country numerous times and the trio before arriving at Sibebe were performing at Cuddle Puddle at Ezulwini.

When the clock hit 3am just after AyaCity’s set the queen of dance, with her voice screamed ‘are you ready, into the mic’. The few people who had been, throughout the night seated in their chairs moved to the front of the stage to closely watch the artist and her dancers performance.

The artist performed some of her great hits and the tricks that were done on that stage were out of this world, but not out of character for Makhadzi as she is known for going the extra mile. After she went off the stage Bello no Galo were up next, then Big Nuz.

It is worth noting that the closing was off the roof as all the SA artists closed off the show and gave Danger some support after he got emotional during the performance once of him self and the late Mampintja’ sing ‘Ngeke

Ngivume’.
