E15k needed before ‘Weslians’ players start training
MANZINI – Manzini Wanderers, one of the hub giants, has issued an urgent call for support as they prepare for the league’s return. The team held a meeting at the Manzini Library yesterday to discuss raising funds for the welfare of the players.
Present at the meeting were MC Chairperson Berger Nxumalo, members of the management committee including Bongani ‘Bhanyaza’Mdluli, representatives from the National Supporters Committee, Public Relations Officer (PRO) Mduduzi ‘Mr G’ Ginindza, Elders Chairperson Joe Nkumane, and various supporters.
Former PROs such as Majaivane Dlamini and Sandile ‘Ntofo’ Dlamini were also in attendance.
During the meeting, it was revealed that the players requested the management to raise E15 000 before they could resume training. Ginindza emphasised the importance of every Wanderers supporter contributing to reach this goal.
Former MC Chairperson Mdluli made a donation of E1 000 and called for unity and support for the
management committee and the team as a whole.
Elders Chairperson Nkumane highlighted the main challenge faced by the club, which is the need for financial resources to support the players’ training. He urged everyone associated with Wanderers to consider their role in
supporting the club and ensuring the team could continue training.
Former PRO ‘Ntofo’ echoed Nkumane’s sentiments, emphasising the importance of unity and financial support. He suggested strategies such as selling team merchandise and engaging in charitable activities to attract sponsors.
