– “We anticipate to spend around E1 500 000 for the SATO Games.”

These were the words of Swaziland National Association of Teachers (SNAT) Secretary General (SG) Mduduzi Lot Vilakati during a media briefing for the 2024 Southern African Teachers Association (SATO) Games to be hosted by the association. The media briefing was held at SNAT Offices on Thursday.

The regional teachers’ 2023 Games were hosted by the Botswana Teachers Union (BTU) and the country was represented by local teachers, courtesy of Solani’s Shisanyama, Instacash, Rexy’s Investment and Eswatini Mobile.

Vilakati revealed that the 2024 edition of the SATO Games would be hosted by SNAT and they were expecting 11 countries to be part of the games billed for August 6, 2024. “The teachers from the SADC region are expected to be around 5 000 so we have the burden of raising E1 500 000 and we urge companies to join hands with us for the successful implementation of the games,” Vilakati said.

The SNAT SG said the companies to partner with them would be given mileage as they would be having stalls in the venues that the games would be played at. “I would like to assure our sponsors, who helped us in our trip to Botswana the first preference this time around as we hope that they would come on board once again,” he said.

He further said such games would also boost the country’s economy as the teachers would visit a lot of places during their four-day stay. Meanwhile, the last time SNAT hosted such games was in 2012 at the University of Eswatini (UNESWA), Kwaluseni Campus.

She gradually dropped from position 465 to 719 out of over 3 000 professional women golfers.

Dlamini said dropping in rankings was due to the fact that she was not able to attend or participate in a number of competitions that had seen her in the past making headlines regionally and worldwide.

Speaking to Eswatini TV, Dlamini said she believed and trusted to have a better 2024, as she was looking forward to being
