MBABANE

– “We’re not where we wanted to be.”

These were the words of Mbabane Swallows Head Coach Caleb Ngwenya during the pre-match interview which was held at Sigwaca, House yesterday. The ‘Birds’ will be visiting Ezulwini United in an MTN Premier League match billed for the Mavuso Sports Centre today.

The former Green Mamba gaffer said they were occupying a positio, which they never wanted to be in by this time of the season. “Football being football gives you results that you don’t want. We are not where we wanted to be,” Ngwenya said.

He said there was still a lot that needed to be done collectively as a team to achieve their desired goal of once again dominating Eswatini football.

He also revealed that their preparations for their match against the ‘Stingers’ were going well, as they knew what they wanted from this game. “My players are coming okay as they working very hard as usual and we are looking forward to the game against Ezulwini United,” he said.

Meanwhile, his counterpart at United Christian Thwala revealed that their preparations were going

well, as they were hoping for good results against Swallows. “As a new club, we are working on our objectives and I am hopeful that we will fulfil them. My players are highly motivated to play against Swallows,” Thwala said.

Respect

He further said that they respected Umkhonto KaShaka, but inside the field of play, they would not give them that respect as they would be gunning for the maximum points.

Swallows Captain Kwakhe Thwala said the spirit was high in the team. “The spirit is high as you know that we are from playing in the derby. Even though we didn’t get the maximum points, we are hopeful that against United we get them,” said Thwala.
