47 aspiring Gospel musicians audition
MBABANE – The Rising Star Talent Search saw 47 aspiring Gospel musicians showing up for auditions during the past weekend.
This was highlighted by award-winning Gospel musician Nduduzo Matse, who is the brains behind this vibrant initiative which aims at unearthing talent locally when it comes to Gospel music.
“We have auditioned 47 people this past weekend and we are looking forward to more of these numbers as we will be visiting other towns for our next auditions,” Matse said.
Aimed
The ‘Rising star talent search’ is a Gospel competition aimed at unearthing talent in the Gospel community by giving young aspiring Gospel musicians a chance to showcase their talent in a bid to win a recording and marketing deal.
A community outreach is usually done in the four corners of the country to search and select the young musicians to compete for a grand prize which is a live recording.
Last year during the fifth edition of the competition, 14 aspiring musicians were crowned winners and they were further given a recording deal through a collaboration between the ‘Mother of all Gospel shows’ and Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture.
Currently, auditions have already started, with the first outreach done in Pigg’s Peak and Mbabane last weekend.
Hosted
The next auditions will be hosted at Siteki Arts Centre this coming Friday. They will then move to Nhlangano Arts Centre in the Shiselweni Region on February 10.
The last stop will be Manzini Arts Centre on February 17 and eliminations will be hosted in Manzini on February 24.
The Rising Star Talent Search auditions are made possible by a collaboration between Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture, Eswatini Television Authority as well as Indumezulu Productions.
Worth mentioning is the fact that registration for the auditions is free.
