Kubulau Resource Management Committee chairman Paulo Kolikata acknowledged the generosity of donor partners including Government for the assistance bestowed on the vanua of Kubulau following the devastation created by TC Winston. “Although TC Winston brought about devastation and destruction, it also brought with it divine messages of love, sharing, caring and working together,” Mr Kolikata said. “Through destruction of our material belongings it has taught us to get rid of the old practices that often separate us from loving and caring for one another; it has made us reflect on the barriers we have created among ourselves in our everyday living and has taught us to work towards rebuilding our brokenness in all sense of the matter. “TC Winston brought with it seeds of love and mercy, genuine affection of caring for one anoth- er. This has been shown by the many visitors who have come from afar to visit us at our time of need. We have never seen such an outpouring concern of real love from our visitors,” he said. The committee acknowledged friends like Naia Dive, Coral Reef Alliance, Wild Life Conservation Society, Namena Island Resort. Namena Divers, Loloma Foundation, Beyond Disaster Relief New Zealand, Shelter Box, Sai Baba, Red Cross, NDMO, Global Foundation, Brisvaani Aid Foundation, Karsmir and Partners, Katalyst Foundation, Andra, Vodafone, Green Force, Wayne Moy, SEEP, Digicel, Government Departments, chiefs from Druadrua island ,Macuata, our own chiefs, KRMC members and Kubulau youths who have all reaffirmed to us the value of caring for each other.
