Fiji Airways unveils Fijian flag on fleet
NATIONAL AIRLINE RESTORES FIJIAN FLAG TO COMPLETE NEW AIRLINE LIVERY WHICH BEGAN BACK IN 2013/2014
Our national airline, Fiji Airways, celebrated the country’s 46th Independence Day by restoring the Fijian flag on its aircraft fleet and thus completing its livery.
All 15 aircraft in its fleet now have the Fijian flag affixed to the front of the plane, proudly carrying the national symbol to over 18 destinations in 11 countries. The flag is a common expression of national pride for flag carriers, and has returned to its rightful place to feature prominently on Fiji Airways and Fiji Link aircraft.
In an unveiling event at Nadi International Airport, the last flag was revealed by the airline group managing director and chief executive, Andre Viljoen, on a Fiji Link ATR aircraft.
Mr Viljoen said: “Today is a proud day for the Fiji Airways Group. “As you know in 2013, we adopted the Fiji Airways brand, and in 2014 we adopted the Fiji Link brand, to acknowledge our heritage and celebrate the pride we have in Fiji and all Fijians.
“As we continue working hard to fulfil this promise, and work towards our goal of becoming a four star airline, we invite all Fijians to take the journey with us with pride.”
The Fiji Airways Group has a fleet of A330s, B737s, ATR 72, ATR42 and DHT Twin Otter aircraft.
The brand Mr Viljoen said the brand adopted by Fiji Airways in 2013 is the heritage of the country and is also the pride that Fiji Airways and Fiji Link have in Fiji. He said the Fijian flag now completes that livery. “In 2013 and 2014, Fiji Airways and Fiji Links adopted the Fijian brand, we adopted a very distinctive and very unique services preposition,” he said.
“We fly to 11 countries, including Asian destinations and have over 300 hundred flights a week so we are the main ambassador of Fiji around the world. “We are an airline that has been working on our brand promise to make sure to differentiate from other airline. “We keep working on it and keep making it special as it is.”
