Minimal damage after PNG quake
Port Moresby: Papua New Guinea’s National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) has confirmed there appears to be little damage from the large earthquake last weekend. The magnitude 7.9 earthquake struck about 50 kilometres off the south eastern coast of New Ireland province, at a depth of 103 km, last Saturday night. The NDMO assistant director Kaigabu Kamnanaya said it was difficult getting efficient communications with the provincial disaster co-ordinator in New Ireland. RNZI
