ACP Tudravu graduates
Family support is his backbone
It was a proud moment for Chief of Operations Assistant Commissioner of Police, Rusiate Tudravu when he graduated on Wednesday. Assistant Commissioner Tudravu graduated with an Executive Masters in Business Administration from the Fiji National University. It took three years to complete. “Words cannot express when we fulfil our dreams, what we’ve targeted for, especially in the academic achievement I’ve received now,” said the Wainibuka, Tailevu native. With a career spanning 34 years in the Fiji Police Force, he attributes his achievement to his dedicated wife, Silina Tudravu who has been the backbone of his family and work. “She’s absolutely everything to me and since I travelled a lot in my work, my wife took care of everything at home and was really the driving force.” He took up the course in 2014 and is the first programme of its kind targeting senior executive officers offered by FNU. “Balancing work and studies was challenging especially during the 2014 elections but when there’s an urge and drive to make the sacrifices and commitment it was all worth it,” he said. He also acknowledged his 83-year-old mother, Paulini Dulaki who finally got to witness her son in a gown on Wednesday with a massive celebration in Nasautoka Village in Wainibuka.
His advice to young people out there is, sky is the limit and it’s all about the discipline and commitment in everything you do. He also wanted to set a benchmark for his family that anything is possible no matter how old you are. Seven other Police officers also graduated with him at the FNU Graduation held at the Vodafone Arena, Suva on Wednesday. Mr Tudravu is the proud father of three children and had two granddaughters.
