FIA awards 16 students
The Fiji Institute of Accountant (FIA) will be awarding students who obtained the highest mark in the accounting subject in the 2016 Fiji National Year 13 examination from the, Northern, Western, Eastern and Central divisions.
“This award is an incentive for high school students who study accounting,” FIA President Jerome Kado said. “It gives them the opportunity to compete with other students who share their interest in accounting within their respective education divisions.
“The four students will get to learn more about the accounting profession and the career opportunities that come with a Chartered Accountant designation”
“I want to congratulate the top four students and all the students for their efforts and interest in accountancy.”
“The FIA believes it is essential that we continue to develop and invest in the pipeline of students entering the profession. The recipients of this year’s awards are examples of the diverse talent that will help the accounting profession continue to thrive well into the future,” Mr Kado said.
The recipients will receive a one-year student membership and the opportunity to develop the skills needed for a successful career through profession.
The awards to the student will be presented at an FIAmember cocktail to be held on today in Suva.
