Fiji impresses US chiropractor team
American chiropractors, here to do voluntary service say Fiji is a great place.
They say it’s a blessing to be able to come here and offer their services free of charge.
Dr Patrick Ray, of Colorado, said: “It’s been a blessing to come serve here in Fiji with our Chiropractic Clinic Abroad team. “We are passionate about what we do and we want to educate, share and offer chiropractic with the people of Fiji.
“Chiropractic is a system of health care without drugs or surgery. Chiropractic health care helps retrain your body to take care of itself.
“If your bodily structure is not straight and true, you may feel pain, become ill or tire more easily. People all over the world have found chiropractic care extremely successful with pain relief and management.
“What is less known is chiropractic care can also help your nervous and immune systems.” Dr Matthew Monson, of Illinois, said: “It’s been a huge honour for me and my girlfriend Kathryn to come serve here to Fiji with our chiropractic team of people who are passionate about chiropractic, and serving people.
“Chiropractic is a form of alternative health care. As you grow older, the stress of a polluted environment, repetitive motion at work, injuries and falls, or just plain living in the twentieth century can compromise your body’s strength and healing powers.” Fijian Nemani Lalanabaravi Delaibatiki, an intern, who helped organise the trip, said: “It’s been a privilege to serve our people here in Fiji.
“We thank Nausori, Sigatoka, Nadi Town and Suva City Councils for providing us venues and support to allow us to provide our services here.
“It’s free because we really want everyone in Fiji to see what chiropractic care is all about. First and foremost we want to thank Minister for Health Rosie Akbar and her team for giving us the opportunity to come and serve in Fiji.”
He said the response in Sigatoka was overwhelming.
“We are looking forward to seeing and serving more people, and the same responses in Nausori, Suva and Nadi after this, including our special service group trip with the Dilkusha Orphanage, boys and girls school and the whole Dilkusha school system on Tuesday. We want to thank Principal Qarau of Dilkusha and the Ministry of Education for the opportunity to go serve there in Dilkusha.
The 34 doctors and student doctors are from Life West Chiropractic College, Northern California and four senior doctors are part of this South Pacific Chiropractic Clinic Abroad Fiji 2017 group that is in the country. This is their first trip to Fiji. Vasemaca Raciri Jackson, who took her daughter to the session, said it was helpful.
“The doctors are very kind and helpful and I think they should hold more of this session in Fiji,” she said.
