Expect pineapple delights, new watermelon delights with milkshakes and juices from Pineapple Hutt Fiji.

This scrumptious pineapple spread is going to be part of the line-up at the Ministry of Health Foodies Lane during the Thurston Food and Music Festival in two weeks.

Owner Glenys Traill said the pineapple business was a family business that started in New Zealand with her late father.

She had moved back to Fiji a couple of years back.

The beautiful locally grown pineapples, readily available here combined with the warm tropical weather caught her attention so she decided to set up her own branch.

“I decided to start up pineapple Hutt Fiji to utilise the tropical weather and the locally grown delicious pineapples available here,” Ms Traill said.

The Suva based and family owned business that started a year ago has Glenys’ family members as staff. “I am excited about the Thurston Food and Music Festival as it’s a centrally located event with a great line up of bands that families can come together and enjoy,” she said.

During the event they’ll also be serving corn dogs, hot chips, Narcho’s and meat wraps to cater for the crowds they’re expecting to drop in at their “hutt”.

Her advice is those that are still undecided about buying ticket she said: “What more can you ask for Suva, right here in Suva City so make a day out of it to catch up with friends and families in a great atmosphere.” You can check them out on their official Pineapple Hutt Fiji Facebook page for more information.

The Thurston Food and Music Festival will be held on July 15 (Saturday) at Thurston Gardens, Suva. About 1500 people are expected at the festival and the first major event by Knox Entertainment.

Tickets are on sale at the RoC Café, Ginger Kitchen at the Fiji Museum, and Fiji Broadcasting Corporation. Admission is free for children under 12 years.

As a build up to the main event, the Fiji Sun will continue to feature artists/bands and businesses that will be involved with the Festival on July 15, 2017.
