US Chiropractic Team Returning On Monday
“For the South Pacific Chiropratic Clinic Abroad (SPCCA) this will be the second time we will be launching our chiropractic mission trip to Fiji,” said one of the group leaders Nemani Delaibatiki
Ateam of chiropractors and students called the South Pacific Chiropractic Clinic Abroad (SPCCA) will be visiting Fiji for free clinics and counsel from Monday next week.
One of the team leaders, Nemani Delaibatiki, originally from Muanaira, Vutia, Rewa, said their second visit to Fiji was an opportunity for the members to serve people who did not have access to chiropractic care.
“We are very passionate about volunteering and serving people, and this gives us the opportunity to serve parts of the world that don’t have access to chiropractic care particularly the south pacific region,” Mr Delaibatiki said.
The team will be opening their clinic on Monday at the Sigatoka Town Council office, on Wednesday at the Sukuna Park, on Thursday at Nausori’s Syria Park and will close on Saturday at the Nadi Civic Centre.
The services are free of charge to everyone in the public with clinic hours from 10am – 5pm at all these venues.
The SPCCA is a newly formed nonprofit student group made up of Life Chiropractic College West medical students and Doctors of Chiropractic clinicians will be coming to Fiji to provide free health care services for the public during their stay in Fiji.
The students attend the Life West Chiropractic College in Northern California in the United States.
“The first volunteer trip backin March was a very memorable one, with us able to reach out and see over 8,000 people who needed care, and one of the many highlights was also visiting President Major-General (Ret’d) Joji Konrote and seeing him receive his chiropractic adjustment up in his residence,” Mr Delaibatiki said. “We are very humbled by the reception, especially people who travelled hours just to come and see us, and this drove us to do all we can, fundraise, and to do more so we can come back to Fiji to volunteer and serve more people.”
He said Fiji needed more resources especially in wellness health care, with an holistic approach, and the team wanted to contribute to that by giving them the choice to access chiropractic care if they seek it.
“There are definitely some long term plans in the works to do more and to contribute in Fiji in regards to chiropractic care, Sports Institute of Human Performance, wellness, and other ways we can help out in,” he said.
