ALESI WAQA, UNAISI RAULINI UPSET COACH VICKI WILSON
Fijian Pearls head coach Vicki Wilson is disappointed with two senior players who did not turn up for any of the team’s strength and conditioning sessions.
The team are preparing for their matches against the European nations Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland on October 5-8 in Cardiff, Wales. Wilson described the non attendance as bizarre. “It is disappointing to see two of my senior players Alesi Waqa and Unaisi Rauluni failing to show up during our strength and conditioning sessions. “They did not call or inform any of the team management, this is bizarre,” Wilson said.
“I did not expect this from two senior players who have been very consistent in the previous preparation.”
Wilson said at this stage she expects all players to be consistent in their preparation.
“The squad is preparing well and we expect the team to be consistent throughout as we prepare for these test matches,” she added.
The test matches are a good build up for Fiji ahead of the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.

Alisi Nawele and New Zealand based Jacinta Lal will join the Pearls team for the UK tour. “Nawele and Bolakoro are soldiers in the British Army and will join us in Wales. Nawele has been part of our squad. I’ve watched Bolakoro but she will come in as training partner.
“Lal was part of the national squad,” Wilson said. Edited by Osea Bola
