Eco-lodge selects two Fijians to visit Mongolia

Rustic Pathways, an eco-lodge based in Momi, Nadroga is sending two of its staff members to visit Mongolia to see their global operations.

Rustic Pathways is the leader in providing superior quality internatio­nal community service, education, and adventure programmes for students around the world.

The two are Viliame Tui and Leba Digitaki.

Mr Tui, an arts student originally from Nabouwalu, Bua, Vanua Levu has been with the company for four months running the Rustic Pathways community service and cultural programmes throughout Fiji. Ms Digitaki holds a Bachelor in Marine Science and is from Vanuavatu, Lau. She has been with Rustic Pathways for four months managing their marine and environmen­t conservati­on programmes.

Fiji Community Impact Manager Cassie Wright said, as part of the company’s local staff developmen­t programme Rustic has given several Fijian staff members the opportunit­y to travel and visit the company’s internatio­nal operations in Australia in 2015 and 2017, New Zealand in 2015, 2016 and 2017, Hong Kong 2015, and United States of America in 2014.

“Rustic Pathways Fiji is working with local communitie­s and community partners to develop projects that address important social, health, and environmen­tal needs, enabling students to take a hands-on role in creating change,” Ms Wright said.

“Our project partners include community leaders in rural villages in the Yasawa Islands and the Interior highlands region of Fiji as well as the Momi Bay region, local organisati­ons and Government agencies,” she added.
