Labasa Council Space for Festival Office

The Vodafone Festival of the Friendly North secretaria­t is working together with the Labasa Town Council to acquire an office space at Labasa Civic Centre. This was confirmed by the president of the committee Subhash Chandra on Wednesday. “Since the humble beginning of the festival in 1962 the committee has been conducting meetings at various locations,” Mr Chandra said.

“This year we saw the need to have an office space to operate from; thanks to the Special Administra­tor of Labasa and Savusavu Town Council Vijay Chand who understood this need and has agreed to assist us,” he said.

have our own office and a volunteer to look after our secretaria­t for us. “We have managed to secure a sponsor, Pioneer Security Services who has agreed to pay for the daily operation expenses of the office.

“Once the secretaria­t is operationa­l, we will continue with our community projects.”
