SUDHAKAR LIKENS PM’S WORK WITH GANDHI IN CHAMPIONING PEACE

Like Mahatma Gandhi, our Prime Minister has recognised the importance of protecting our environment and leads the campaign for it, says Ashneel Sudhakar. The Government Whip in Parliament was chief guest at the 148th birthday celebrations of Gandhi ji, a champion of peace, yesterday organised by the Indian High Commission in Suva.
“Our Prime Minster is using the philosophy of Gandhi ji and Shri Narendra Modi ji in implementing his fight, which he has taken to the world, on climate change,” Mr Sudhakar said.
India’s High Commissioner to Fiji Vishvas Sapkal also spoke of Gandhi ji as an environmentalist.
“You have to respect others,” he said,” and you have to respect Mother Nature at the same time.”

The function in Kshatriya Hall also had artists performing various tributes for the international icon, with some members of the international community also present.
