KIA Sorrento Up For Grabs
Top prize at the 2017 Fiji Chemicals Sigatoka District Hospital Charity Golf Day
Golfers playing in this year’s Fiji Chemicals Sigatoka District Hospital Charity Golf Day have a chance of winning a 2017 model KIA Sorrento valued at $109,000.
All they have to do is sink a “Hole in One” on the 173 metre 4th hole at Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course.
This year’s tournament is expected to attract a full field of golfers who will also be vying for prizes valued at over $150,000. This includes shopping vouchers from Tappoo and Jack’s of Fiji as well as individual hole prizes consisting of 5-night holidays staying at a number of resorts on the Coral Coast.
The tournament is being conducted by the Coral Coast chapter of the Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association (FHTA). Chapter chairman, Peter Hopgood stated that the goal of the hoteliers was to raise over $100,000 for the Sigatoka District Hospital.
Over the past five years the chapter has raised in excess of $300,000 for the hospital.
These funds have been utilised to build a new maternity ward, upgrades to the Outpatients ward and the donation of an Ophthalmology scanner for the eye clinic.
Last year a new helipad medevac facility, fully funded by the Coral Coast chapter of FHTA was opened at the Sigatoka District Hospital.
Hopgood said “the charity golf day is a great way to raise money for the local hospital and have a lot of fun whilst doing it.”
“We will provide on course catering and we will also be conducting a monster 200 Club raffle. It’s a perfect day for mates to come together for a round golf and help out our local community.” he said.
“Among our many supporters we would like to thank our naming rights sponsor Fiji Chemicals. Fiji Airways for providing 2 x return flights to Hawaii, Tappoo, Jacks of Fiji as well as all of the resorts on the Coral Coast.
We also thank other resorts around Fiji that have contributed to the 200 Club Raffle.
These include Volivoli Resort, Sofitel Resort and Spa, Captain Cook Cruises, Radisson Blu Resort Fiji, Grand Pacific Hotel and the Intercontinental Golf Resort and Spa.” Anyone wishing to participate in the charity golf day can contact Peter Hopgood via email gm@outriggerfiji.com.fj.
