Stakeholders within the automotive industry in Vanua Levu will witness a grand promotion when the Western Race Mods-organised car show will be hosted in Labasa on January 20.

The show is a public exhibition of automobile models, debuts, concept cars and out-ofproduction classics.

It will be attended by automotive industry representatives, dealers, and car enthusiasts because they are important to car manufacturers and local dealers.

The public relations exercise is to advertise new products and promote auto brands. Car show organiser, Monisha Shyam, said they expected it to be big since it would be the first time Labasa would host an event like this.

“We are having this car show in Labasa to show people in the North that they are still a part of us and if they can’t come to Suva we surely can go to them,” he said.

“There are a lot of car enthusiasts and people who maintain their cars. We just like to show that they too can do what we do.”

It was not long ago when the team decided to do a car show in the friendly north. The theme for the event is ‘Team work makes dreams work’.

“As for sponsors they are not keen. We can still make our way to Labasa with the team,” Mr Shyam said.

“We already had two car shows in Sigatoka. Affter the friendly north car show we will have another car show organised.”

The Friendly North Car Show will be hosted at the Subrail Park ground 2, from 10am to 10pm.
