The producers are booking this slot to gain maximum traction at the cinema halls and enjoy the complete advantage of Christmas and New Year weekend.
If you look at the track record of five last Christmas releases, you’ll be amazed with their box office performance.
2017 – Tiger Zinda Hai (collections: Rs 313 crore) (FJD 10m), 2016 – Dangal (collections: Rs 387.39 crore) (FJD 12.3m), 2015 – Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani (cumulative collections – Rs 332 crore) (FJD 10.6m), 2014 – PK (Rs 340 crore) (FJD 10.8m) and 2013 – Dhoom 3 (Rs 284 crore) (FJD 9m). These collections of the Christmas releases are more than enough for you to understand that why all mega-budget films want to reserve this money-spinning weekend. Interestingly, maximum Christmas weekend slots are booked by Aamir Khan but surprisingly, this slot for the upcoming three years is booked by Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan.

Dabangg 3 – Christmas 2019
Salman Khan will be back in the avatar of kickass cop, Chulbul Pandey, in the third installment of the Dabangg franchise. Like the previous two parts, we are expecting some raw action sequences, hand-to-hand combat and full-on paisa vasool masala entertainer from Dabangg 3.
Krrish 4 – December 2020
Our very own first superhero of Bollywood, Krrish aka Hrithik Roshan will be back on the silver screen to charm us with his magical superpowers.
Touted to be the amalgamation of technology entertainment and high-octane stunts Krrish 4 might star acting powerhouse Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a negative avatar.
By looking at these releases, it seems that the blockbuster films are on their way.
