Air Kiribati has announced the launch of its oncea-weekservice linking Tarawa and Funafuti utilising Air Kiribati‘s Dash 8 100 aircraft from March 21.

Chief executive officer, Tarataake Teannaki said the service connects two nations with long held strong ties and allows Tuvalu residents new choices for travel to countries such as the Marshall Islands, Nauru, Honiara, Port Vila, Port Moresby and Brisbane.

”We‘re excited to make this announcement, said Teannaki.

“We know that there are strong family and government connections between Kiribati and Tuvalu and we are confident that the service will be well used.

“This service, we believe, will facilitate the growth and development of both tourism and trade between the two countries and will further the Kiribati Government‘s Kiribati Vision 20 (KV20) objectives, added Teannaki.

”Our new Tuvalu service is our second international service that we have announced after last year‘s establishment of a once-a-week service between Tarawa, Honiara and Brisbane.”

Prices between Tarawa and Funafuti start from US$350 (FJ$712) one way with up to 35 seats available on every service. Passengers will enjoy an in-cabin service and the warm hospitality of Air Kiribati‘s cabin crew.

In addition, Air Kiribati is pleased to announce that it has appointed Manu Travel Office as its General Sales Agent (GSA) in Tuvalu.

It is important that Air Kiribati has a strong presence in Tuvalu and we are pleased to announce Ilaisita

Manuella and her team at Manu Travel Services as Air Kiribati‘s first international GSA, said Teannaki.

Teannaki said “Air Kiribati is also pleased to announce that to celebrate the launch of the Funafuti service, it will be selling tickets exclusively at a promotional rate of US$250 (FJ$ 508) for special flights on March 14 and 17.

It follows the formally signing of the Air Service Agreement between both countries in December 2017.
