Fiji Airways Fijian Warriors side is confident to deliver their best performance when they battle against Samoa A in their first match of the 2018 World Rugby Pacific Challenge.

The hosts will face Samoa A at 5pm while at 2:30pm Junior Japan takes on Tonga A at the ANZ Stadium tomorrow. Fiji Airways Fijian Warriors head coach Senirusi Seruvakula is content with the players preparation as is anticipating a tough competition ahead.

“The side is very much confident to take on the Samoans on Friday,” Seruvakula said. “We are pleased to have a great mixture of experienced and young players in the side. And most of these young players have really proved themselves during the training sessions and the fitness test. “Some of these players have undergone the pathway of under 20s and the academy team so I have a lot of faith and confidence in the top 15 that will take on the field for the Warriors.

“I can rest assure that most of these young players will be part of the future Flying Fijian team as I have been monitoring their individual capabilities during the past few days of the training sessions,” he said.

“Obviously, we are expecting a tough competition from Samoa and Tonga. They had been trying to beat us for the past three years and look forward to some tough play from them.

“But nevertheless, we will just have to be cautious on our discipline to avoid situations that would allow goal scoring opportunities for the opposition.”
