Vil­lagers take ad­van­tage of ser­vices at doorstep

Ru­ral Fi­jians of Moala is­land took ad­van­tage of var­i­ous gov­ern­ment ser­vices on of­fer from min­istries and de­part­ments. The Moala road­show opened by the Per­ma­nent Sec­re­tary for Ru­ral and Mar­itime De­vel­op­ment, Dis­as­ter Man­age­ment, and Me­te­o­ro­log­i­cal Ser­vices, Meleti Ban­i­marama is part of Gov­ern­ment’s pri­or­ity to take ser­vices of­fered by gov­ern­ment and its part­ners closer to re­mote ru­ral and mar­itime com­mu­ni­ties.

Speak­ing to mem­bers of the com­mu­nity at the Naroi Vil­lage grounds, Mr Bain­i­marama re­it­er­ated Gov­ern­ment’s com­mit­ment in ad­dress­ing chal­lenges faced by ru­ral Fi­jians.

“The ob­jec­tive of the three-day gov­ern­ment road­show is to bring ser­vices closer to you and to al­low you to make use of the ad­vice and in­for­ma­tion of­fered by both Gov­ern­ment of­fi­cials and our de­vel­op­ment part­ners,” Mr Bain­i­marama said.

“Gov­ern­ment has al­ways been con­cerned with the chal­lenges faced by some of our ru­ral com­mu­ni­ties in ac­cess­ing gov­ern­ment ser­vices. “This is one of the main rea­sons for Gov­ern­ment to con­tinue to sup­port and pro­mote road­shows in the
