Cakau­drove urged to in­vest in re­sources

The iTaukei Af­fairs Board deputy chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer Josefa To­gani­valu has en­cour­aged del­e­gates present at the Cakau­drove Pro­vin­cial Coun­cil meet­ing in Savusavu yes­ter­day to in­vest and save money for the fu­ture gen­er­a­tion. Mr To­gani­valu, who was the chief guest for the meet­ing, said they were try­ing to change the mind­set of the iTaukei when it came to mak­ing use of the re­sources that they had.

“We have to make use of the land and gain profit and to in­vest for the fu­ture gen­er­a­tion,” he said. “The iTaukei was re­source rich but cash poor. We have the re­sources, but are not util­is­ing it.

iTaukei are be­ing poor while sit­ting on riches. We can use our re­sources to start busi­nesses and to in­crease the profit for our chil­dren.”

Mr To­gani­valu, who was the chief guest for the meet­ing, said they were try­ing to change the mind­set of the iTaukei when it came to mak­ing use of the re­sources that they had.
