Ratu Jekesoni Ready To Perform Duties As Council Chairperson
Ratu Jekesoni Yavala has been appointed the new Cakaudrove Provincial Council chairman.
He took up the position during the council meeting at Yaroi Village in Savusavu yesterday. He was appointed by the Minister of iTaukei Affairs and Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama. Ratu Jekesoni served for the
iTaukei affairs for about 20 years. The new council chairman said he was ready to commit himself to the duties of his new role for the province.
“First of all I want to thank the Prime Minister for inviting me to once again do my duty in my province,” Ratu Jekesoni said.
“I am glad to be given this opportunity because I am from Cakaudrove.”
He promised to do his best to bring positive changes to the province of Cakaudrove.
“When I was growing up I was taught to serve the people of my province and being appointed as the new chairman of Cakaudrove Provincial Council will prompt me to continue to do so,” he said. The position of chairman will be for three years.
