Ratu Jekesoni Ready To Per­form Du­ties As Coun­cil Chair­per­son

Ratu Jekesoni Yavala has been ap­pointed the new Cakau­drove Pro­vin­cial Coun­cil chair­man.

He took up the po­si­tion dur­ing the coun­cil meet­ing at Yaroi Vil­lage in Savusavu yes­ter­day. He was ap­pointed by the Min­is­ter of iTaukei Af­fairs and Prime Min­is­ter Voreqe Bain­i­marama. Ratu Jekesoni served for the

iTaukei af­fairs for about 20 years. The new coun­cil chair­man said he was ready to com­mit him­self to the du­ties of his new role for the prov­ince.

“First of all I want to thank the Prime Min­is­ter for invit­ing me to once again do my duty in my prov­ince,” Ratu Jekesoni said.

“I am glad to be given this op­por­tu­nity be­cause I am from Cakau­drove.”

He promised to do his best to bring pos­i­tive changes to the prov­ince of Cakau­drove.

“When I was grow­ing up I was taught to serve the peo­ple of my prov­ince and be­ing ap­pointed as the new chair­man of Cakau­drove Pro­vin­cial Coun­cil will prompt me to con­tinue to do so,” he said. The po­si­tion of chair­man will be for three years.
