Bonus Win For Malolo

The Aca Ratuva-coached Cloud 9 Malolo side scored a 3020 bonus point victory over Warwick Navosa in round five of the Skipper Cup Premiershi­p at Churchill Park, last night.

This was Malolo’s second win in the season.

What happened:

In the first minute Nacanieli Nagata of Navosa kicked the first penalty to lead 3-0. Three minutes later his opposite number Taniela Raubula levelled the score, 3-3.

Seven minutes later Raubula added another one making it 6-3.

In the 15th minute winger Netani Nadavo dashed to the corner to score 11-3.

In the 27th minute flanker Tevita Bulai dashed to score near the post and was converted by substitute Ilikimi Matakaca.

Halftime:

Malolo 11–10 Navosa In the 57th minute first five-eight Nagata kicked a penalty to lead 1311 but it did not last long as Aminiasi Natuiyaga came off the bench to score two tries in a space of two minutes with Peni Vukayawa slotting one conversion.

In the 78th minute number eight Atunaisa Bote added another try with conversion coming from Peni Vukayawa.

In the last moment of the match, Navosa managed to pull one try through Nacanieli Nagatalevu and he converted it but was too late to change the scoreboard.

Big Play:

Malolo’s Taniela Raubula and Nacani Labalaba read the game well. Malolo tight five played a grand match.

Comments:

Malolo coach Aca Ratuva said, “It was a grand game and we came for a bonus point win as this was crucial for our survival in the competitio­n. We are in critical rounds now.”

Navosa coach Peniasi Damu said, “We came for the win but it did not happen. Malolo was a good side. We have to turn the table around in the coming games.”
