Famous Savusavu hotel to re-open this year
Mr Liang hopes that investing in this hotel would benefit the company and Fijians.
“For this investment we hope it is a win-win situation and would like to create opportunities for locals,” he said.
“I want people to be able to gather and have a place to have fun and not to be bored during weekends which means that our hotel is not open to our guests only but also for locals.
“Doing this would make us different from other resorts and hotels.”
The company has 40 employees, with some positions still vacant, Mr Liang said.
“We are still hiring people to fill in position for waitress, bartender and chef,” he said.
“We are hoping to connect the hotspring to the pool and have it open for 24 hours. “People can also use the pool for training purposes. We are trying to make this investment succeed. “We did our research before we purchased this hotel. Fiji is a very good place to invest.” Renovations and repair of the hotel are still underway. Michelle Investment hopes to have an official opening in July or August this year, Mr Liang said.
