Xi: Boost efforts in battling poverty

Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for concerted actions, concrete efforts and hard work in poverty alleviation to strive for the comprehensive victory of the nation’s critical battle against poverty.

Mr Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the call in a recent instruction on the nation’s poverty elimination drive.

A national teleconference on poverty alleviation was held in Beijing on Monday.
