6 teenagers charged with serious crimes in the Solomons


Solomon Islands police at Kirakira in Makira-Ulawa Province have charged six teenagers with multiple serious crimes. The provincial police commander, superinten­dent Peter Sitai, said the youths were charged with malicious damage, intimidati­on, carrying weapons, trespass, break-ins and making home brew.

Mr Sitai said the charges followed an incident at Pirupiru Community High School. He said the youths allegedly entered the school grounds, damaged school property and threatened students and staff with bush knives.
