Fijian professional golfer Sam Lee has set his sight on lifting the Sheraton Golf Classic title at the Denarau Golf and Racquet Club on Saturday. The four- day of the 72-hole event begins today featuring top professional golfers in the region.

Lee is fresh from his first Cardos Fiji Open title victory at the same venue over the weekend.

“My first year in the Classic was when I turned professional in 2015,” he said.

His best finish was third in 2016 where he shot a final round 64.

“This event is still important but not as much as the Fiji Open I wanted to win the Fiji Open since playing junior golf at the Fiji Golf Club in Suva. I will still do my best to win the event, it would be awesome to win back-to- back. Apart from Lee, the top professionals are defending champions Pieter Zwart, Ryan Fox, senior champion Glen Joynerand Brad Shilton.

“I want to thank my sponsor Raymond Vuksich for sponsoring me to go and play overseas. I really appreciate the fact that I don’t have to worry about the expenses as much, so I can focus more on golf.”
