- MARAIA VULA

Vodafone Fiji yesterday announced that it’s roaming services is available for both Postpaid and Prepaid customers.

The company’s roaming footprint technology spans across 293 partner networks in 136 countries.

Vodafone Fiji’s chief operating officer Ronald Prasad said: “Postpaid customers have been enjoying the $15 per day roaming plan for about a year now and we have received very good feedback.

“We started with seven outbound countries and over the last 12 months have added an additional five.

“During this time, we also introduced three other daily plans to suit different segments of users. “$25 for 100 mins, 100 sms and 200 MB data, $50 for 100 mins, 100 sms and 500 MB data and $100 for 100 mins, 100 sms and 1000MB data.”

He said yesterday, they introduced two additional plans, a weekly plan for just $99 with 350 mins, 350 sms and 1GB data & $299-monthly plan with 1000 mins, 1000 sms and 3GB data.

“We also added another seven new outbound destinations to the list, making a total of 22 countries where our Postpaid customers can roam on these daily, weekly and monthly plans.

“The new additions are Japan, Germany, Italy, Indonesia, Switzerland, South Africa and Russia. Perfect timing, especially for our customers who will be going to watch the world cup soccer in Russia.

“The other exciting part is that these our Prepaid customers can now also use these plans and roam in 12 countries, which include Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada, India, Sri Lanka, Singapore, UK, Hong Kong Samoa, Vanuatu and Tonga.

“It’s as simple as landing in any of these countries and dialing *100# to activate the plans and start roaming.

“No need to pick up a local SIM and go through the hassle of swapping SIMs every time you travel. “Along with this we have also reduced the rates for countries where these plans are currently not available. This means reduction of up to 80 per cent on selected roaming tariffs in about 40 countries. “We will continue to work with our roaming partners to negotiate better deals and encourage them to upgrade their platforms and as and when we do, we will keep adding new destinations to the daily, weekly and monthly plans.

“I’m certain there will be a lot of happy customers out there, as these plans will make it easy and cost effective to keep in touch and stay connected.”
