Views, Feedback Important To Improve Services at Centre
Stakeholders play an important role when it comes to the work being done by the National Employment Centre. Ministry of Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations Permanent Secretary Salaseini Daunabuna said the views and feedback from stakeholders were important to them.
She raised this sentiment when opening a stakeholder’s forum yesterday.
“We had a few forums previously and they were very useful to us,” Ms Daunabuna said. “We found that feedback from stakeholders on the ground were very useful so we used it to our advantage.
“The National Employment Centre has been in operation from 2009 so next year will be the 10th year and that’s some milestone.
“Of course with every achievement we have to see how far we have come, where we started and where we plan to head to in the future. This exercise is one way we hope to gather information, views, feedback and help us improve the services we provide.
“We hope that we will be able to see that we have grown from strength to strength.
“In the budget that has just been announced there is a substantial figure for the centre to work with.” Ms Daunabuna said the funds would greatly help the programmes they have in place.
“I understand that $4.3 million has been allocated to the National Employment Centre,” she said.
“All in all we are here to have an engagement with our important stakeholders and you will realise that the schemes we operate are largely labour driven and at the end of this entire exercise our team will continue to work with you.” Edited by Percy Kean
