Fiji Airways, Alaska Airlines Open Up More US Cities to Fiji
STRENGTHENED CODESHARE AGREEMENT GROWS SAN FRANCISCO HUB, CONNECTING A FURTHER 18 AMERICAN DESTINATIONS
Fiji Airways and Alaska Airlines continue to strengthen their code-share partnership, with the latest expansion adding a number of destinations to Fijian carrier’s network via its San Francisco hub.
Guests of both airlines can now easily connect to/from Fiji (Nadi) to an additional 19 cities in the US
This includes large cities like San Diego, Austin, Indianapolis, Washington DC and Boston. The airlines have an existing code-share for flights from Seattle and Portland to Fiji via San Francisco.
Fiji Airways managing director and chief executive officer Andre Viljoen welcomed the wide-ranging code-share expansion:
“Our partnership with Alaska Airlines keeps growing from strength to strength,” Mr Viljoen said. “Their extensive North American network offers guests from some of the region’s most populous cities a convenient connection to our home – Fiji – and its renowned tourist attractions.
“It’s good for Fiji, Fijian tourism and both airlines. Conversely, our Fijian guests will now enjoy excellent connectivity to these wonderful US cities thanks for this expanded agreement.
Alaska Airlines’ executive vice president and chief commercial officer Andrew Harrison said: “Extending our code-share agreement with Fiji Airways in San Francisco means we can offer seamless connections with major U.S. cities including Washington, D.C., Boston and San Diego.
“Our loyal customers can look forward to a hassle-free, premium experience travelling to and from the coveted South Pacific islands.” Members of Alaska Airlines’ Mileage Plan programme can also earn and redeem miles for travel on Fiji Airways. The newly added flights on the codeshare agreement are available for sale from August 1, 2018.
