Dr Ryan will deliver lecture on use of lasers
Dr Ryan Keung Seto will lecture on the topic: The ‘What’, ‘How’, ‘Why’ to light up your Dentistry during this year’s 42nd Annual Conference of the Fiji Dental Association (FDA). He will be another guest speaker, who will be presenting his research, at the conference that will begin tomorrow at the Hilton Beach Resort in Nadi.
An abstract of his lecture reads: “Clinical applications and researches on the use of lasers in dentistry continue to grow over the past years. “However, the reasons, strength and how to use it in clinical dentistry are still not very well understood and accepted.”
His presentation will shed light on the recent use of dental lasers of different wavelengths on different aspects of clinical dentistry like: Diagnosis, Conservative Dentistry, Endodontics, Periodontology, Oral Surgery, Implant Dentistry and even Orthodontics.
Dr Seto’s learning objectives include:
1. Basic laser physics and its importance in clinical application.
2. Possible applications in clinical dentistry His Curriculum Vitae includes:
1. Awarded MSc (RWTH Aachen) (University of Aachen in Germany) in Lasers in Dentistry in RWTH Aachen University of Germany, with distinction in 2007 and European Master Degree in Oral Laser Application in 2008.
2. Obtained membership of DGDP (UK), PGDip (Hong Kong), MGD (CDSHK), MSc (London).
3. Currently a specialist clinical lecturer of The Laser & Health Academy and Fellow of the International College of Continuous Dental Education.
