Applause For Organising Committee From Sponsor

The organising committee of the Vodafone Festival of the Friendly North has been commended for its transparency. The compliment came from Vodafone Fiji chief executive officer officer Pradeep Lal, during the contestants visit to the company outlet in Labasa yesterday.

“We are proud to be part of the festival because the money raised is for a good cause,” Mr Lal said.

“The committee has a very good track record of what it has done in the past.

“For the young 12 queens and four king contestants this festival gives you a good opportunity to expose yourself and learn new things, which will equip you with an added advantage.

“When you get into a career in future what you have done and gathered from the weeklong festival will help you.

“With a strong partnership of over a decade, we have delivered a festival that has become the premier carnival event in the Northern Division.” The committee, through various projects and support has made meaningful contributions for the community.

Vodafone Festival of the Friendly North committee president Vishwa Deo thanked Mr Lal and the company for their continuous support.

“Mr Lal is no stranger to the festival because he is originally from Labasa,” Mr Deo said.

“The members of the festival committee are grateful to Vodafone Fiji Limited for being our major sponsor for so many years.”

The contestants also visited the University of the South Pacific Labasa campus.
