Running a business, especially a business which looks after vehicles and machines is not easy. This was what Fix General Engineering and Automotive managing director Raaz Singh said to the Fiji Sun.

Mr Singh shared his story on how he started his business with only $3000 and now it is booming.

He said when he first started, he employed only one staff member on contract and most of the work was done by him.

“Slowly, as my client base increased, I started employing more staff and now it currently stands at 10. I started to also explore into the area of engineering which required substantial investment in terms of machinery.

“I was lucky to secure a loan which enabled me to purchase the machines that help generate the majority of returns in my business today.”

He said there were a few reasons why he set up his own business. The choice of business was driven by the fact that he was a panel beater himself.

“I knew the requirements of the business and the work that needed to be done, so it was natural to start a business in the field.”

His business started in 2010 at Lot 4, Kasanji Street, Vatuwaqa.

Mr Singh currently rents the property where his business operates from.

His vision is to one day own and operate his business from his own property.

“Apart from this, my aim is to continue to increase my client base and look at improving the services and turnaround times I offer to my clients.”

He also plans to tap into commercial farming and construction.
