SODELPA leader Sitiveni Rabuka has broken away from the pack and strengthened his position as the preferred Prime Minister after Voreqe Bainimarama, the latest Sun News Poll reveals. Mr Rabuka has jumped from 10 per cent to 14 per cent.

The other big gain was recorded by National Federation Party leader Biman Prasad who went up from two per cent to six per cent.

All the other leaders either remained on the same level or dropped. Mr Prasad and Opposition leader Ro Teimumu Kepa are tied on number three spot with six per cent while HOPE leader Tupou Draunidalo caught up to Fiji Labour Party’s Aman Ravindra-Singh at three per cent.

Savenaca Narube, Unity Fiji leader is struggling. He has dropped from one per cent to zero.

While Mr Bainimarama has slipped from 74 per cent to 68, he is still in a commanding position.

Both Mr Rabuka and Mr Prasad have gained from the combined losses of the other leaders. Mr Rabuka’s pro-indigenous message is winning ground in some iTaukei electorates.

Mr Prasad’s profile has been elevated higher after an interview on FBC TV.

In the party battle Unity Fiji suffered the biggest hit, sliding from nine per cent to three per cent. The biggest winner is NFP which leapt from two per cent to nine per cent.

The seven percentage gain in the largest by any party.
