Telecom Fiji Limited (TFL) presented $7000 to Save the Children Fiji for the Charity Ambrose Golf Tournament at the Fiji Golf Club on Friday.

“Save the Children Fiji acknowledges our partnership with TFL now in its second year as our major sponsor for this charity golf tournament,” Save the Children Fiji chief executive officer Iris Low McKenzie said.

“We do our own fundraising to support our programme in Fiji.”

McKenzie said their target is to raise $15,000.

“That is to help with our work on raising awareness in communities about child protection issues and educational assistance.

“Last year Save the Children Fiji supported over 900 children with school bags and we hope that those funds raised will help us meet those needs,” she said. “Twelve teams have registered and we are fortunate to have Fiji Golf Club as a supporter and they are helping us to get teams together.”

TFL financial controller Ashika Nandni said they are fortunate to partner with Save the Children Fiji.

“We are committed in giving back to the community under our corporate social community programme. This falls in line with our motto of sharing happiness and empowering Fijians.

“We are happy that our contribution will generate more funds to benefit the children of Fiji,” Nandni said.
