PRASAD: A-G WELCOME TO TAKE ACTION ON EMAILS

-

Faiyaaz Shafiq

In Australia if any member of a political party makes a statement that is unbecoming the leader of the party will immediately step in and take control of the situation demanding a thorough explanation. If the statement is beyond repair no amount of ducking and weaving will save that person from remaining a member of the party. In relation to the emails that the AG sent to Mr. Prasad raising an important matter of concern, it was incumbent upon Mr. Prasad to take some serious action relating to the allegations that were being made by a provisional candidate. Instead, it appears, Mr. Prasad decided to sweep the AG's concerns under the carpet. By failing to act, Mr. Prasad confirms to the general public that if he gets elected he will not bother answering emails or issues that he perceives too difficult to tackle. A real leader faces the music, even when he doesn't like the tune. If Mr. Prasad has failed to take action against his own provisional candidate, what guarantees can he give to the people of Fiji that if he gets elected that he will still take the floor and dance even if the music is bad. Wake up Fiji vote VB if you want to be heard.
