Youths from three villages in the province of Ra have successfully completed weeks of training on personal development and selfimprovement. Dubbed the ‘Seed of Success’ workshop, the training saw 90 youths from Namataveikai, Malake and Bucalevu villagers attending. Facilitated and funded by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the workshop focused mostly on changing the youths’ attitude to focus on their self-development. Youth ministry staff member Keasi Delana said the Seed of Success training, when completed successfully, would enable the youths to know what was required of them in their community and to develop their potential. “We all want to grow up successful in our communities and in a rural setting it means being ‘someone’ in your villages and settlements,” Mr Delana said.

Headman and Mataiveikai village youth advisor, Jovilisi Muloca, said every youth needs to attend training or workshops to help them develop into mature persons.

“The workshop also taught the youths to create a personal development plan for self-improvement and instilled in youths the importance of time management which is directly linked to general and financial discipline and success” Mr Delana said.
