Unity Fiji Party leader Savenaca Narube says his party can do better than the current government has done. He made this comment while addressing the villagers of Narewa in Nadi during the party’s final campaign yesterday.

Mr Narube said the FijiFirst Party boasted about a lot of items. “They boast about education, what education?” he said. “They boast about free education what free education? We have one Toppers of 600 places, the rest is loan. “Our children are borrowing from government. At the end of their three or four years of study, they have this great burden of debt to government.”

The former Reserve Bank of Fiji governor said this was not free.

“That is not free, that is not empowering our children, we will do better than what they have done,” he said. “What do they boast about, development, we can do better much better.”

Unity Fiji says its trump card is the leadership of Mr Narube, who was also once permanent secretary in the then Ministry of Finance, plus a mix of professionals in its ranks of candidates.

Savenaca Narube.
