SODELPA leader quizzed over talk­back show claims

So­cial Demo­cratic Lib­eral Party (SODELPA) Leader Si­tiveni Rabuka yes­ter­day was ques­tioned at the Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tions Depart­ment (CID) head­quar­ters in Suva.

Po­lice Com­mis­sioner Bri­gadier-Gen­eral Si­tiveni Qil­iho said Mr Rabuka was be­ing ques­tioned in re­la­tion to com­ments made dur­ing a ra­dio talk­back show. Mr Rabuka was ac­com­pa­nied by his lawyer Fil­imoni Vosarogo and other party sup­port­ers.

Mr Rabuka said: “I had fin­ished my role in the party’s cam­paign in Nau­sori then came to the CID head­quar­ters.

“I was in the West when I re­ceived the sum­moned no­tice be­fore I came back for the rally to­day.”

Mr Vosarogo said: “Mr Rabuka had come by him­self to­day to the CID be­cause Po­lice wanted him to come in and an­swer some ques­tions, which he has done.

“The Po­lice will con­tinue with their in­ves­ti­ga­tion and will call us back if there is any need to.”
