FEO awaits details to finalise salaries

The Fijian Elections Office is in the final stages of completing payments to all Election Day officials and has processed 9595 salaries as of yesterday. Acting Director Communications Edwin Nand said FEO sent text messages to all officials once their salaries are deposited to their respective banks.

“While we have completed the payment process, the FEO is mindful that there are some Election Officials who have changed their bank details,” Mr Nand said. “This means that we cannot execute the payment until these staff provide us with their updated bank account details.

“We would like to ensure that all staff receive their pay package as quickly as possible and therefore we urge those with amended bank details to contact us immediately.” Mr Nand said they had recorded a total of 131 incorrect bank accounts while some of them have closed.

He said if FEO receives updated bank account information soon they would complete all payments by next week.
