Mobile phone communication HELPS LOCATE MISSING fiSHERS
The two fishermen who went missing at sea on Wednesday were easily located because they had kept in touch from their phones with their rescuers.
RFMF Naval division Maritime Commander Ledua Yaco said: “There were six people who went out fishing. Four of them were on an island whereas the other two drifted in a fibreglass boat. “The two that were adrift had mobile phones which made it easier to locate them because we had direct contact with them. “If they did not have the phone it would have been hard to locate them.” Commander Yaco advised those planning to go out fishing to have basic materials. “It was the Kokomo Resort divers that went out to search for the two people who were missing.”
