RFMF chief-of-staff leaves tomorrow for overseas studies

Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) chief-ofstaff Brigadier-General Ro Jone Kalouniwai leaves tomorrow to study at the highest Australian Defence Force (ADF) institutio­n – the Centre for Defence and Strategic Studies in Canberra.

This was confirmed by the RFMF chief staff officer operations Major Saula Koro.

The course will be for one year and Major Koro said BrigadierG­eneral Ro Jone’s replacemen­t would be announced by RFMF Commander Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto when he returns on December 18 from the Middle East.

Colonel Litea Seruiratu recently graduated from the same postgradua­te level educationa­l programme Ratu Jone will attend. She returned this week. Meanwhile, RFMF Deputy Commander– Brigadier General Mohammed Aziz is the acting Commander.

Meanwhile, the likely candidates to replace Brigadier General Ro Jone are Colonel Seruiratu, Captain (Navy) John Fox and Land Force Commander Colonel Manoa Gadai.
