Police: 10 drug related cases so far

Cases were reported in Nadi, Lautoka, Koro Island and Nakasi

Atotal of 10 drug-related cases have been recorded so far this year by the Fiji Police Force. The 10 cases include the latest case where a 47-year-old businessma­n of Jet Set Car Wash in Martintar, Nadi, was arrested by Police on January 15, following a raid at the property.

Police officers seized five small clear plastic bags containing white substances weighing 28.6grams, 12 sealed plastics of dried leaves believed to be marijuana and four scales including other drugs sniffing apparatus.

Police also confiscate­d AUD$115, NZD$10, USD$24, $2 Argentina currency including FJD$1206 in cash. The suspect is currently in custody awaiting the drugs analysis report.

Meanwhile, the other nine drug-related cases were at:

Sabeto, Nadi, on January 2, where a clear plastic containing white crystal believed to be methamphet­amine were found in a car. On January 4, there were two drug-related cases where five people were arrested at Syria Park in Nausori while three people were arrested in Nadi.

On January 9, another arrest was made in Nadi. On January 11, there was a drug-related case in Field 40, Lautoka.

There were three cases on January 12, at Davuilevu Housing in Nakasi, Malolo Nadi and on Koro Island while on January 14, an arrest was made in Lautoka. Edited by Naisa Koroi
